Natural Resources

What is the Natural Resources Committee?

Utah Valley is experiencing unprecedented growth as it continues to evolve into a more diverse business and family-friendly environment with high job growth and low unemployment. Our mission is to identify and champion policies and programs that protect the natural resources of Utah Valley, such as, clean air and water, renewable energy, and access to the wilderness.

We support responsible natural resource management, including both renewable resources like solar and wind energy, alongside continued sensible support of non-renewable resources like fossil fuels and natural gas. By championing sustainable practices, we strive to ensure that the Utah Valley remains a vibrant place to live, work and play for generations to come.

Innovative Solutions for Renewable Energy in Utah Valley

As Utah Valley strives to balance growth with sustainability, the shift toward renewable resources has become a priority. Solar energy, for example, is a key area of focus, with the region’s ample sunshine making it an ideal candidate for solar power expansion. In addition, wind energy initiatives are gaining traction in areas with favorable wind conditions.

By supporting renewable resources like solar and wind, Utah Valley is positioning itself as a leader in clean energy. This shift not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also helps improve water quality by correlating the need for water-intensive energy production methods like coal plants.
